We’ve checked our list twice and found out we had plenty of dogs to buy for this Christmas. That’s why we whipped up a couple batches of these Gingerbread Dog Treats.
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon ginger powder
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/2 cup molasses
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 1/2 cup water
- 1/4 cup vegetable oil
- 1 egg
Preheat oven to 350°F. And we decided to whip up this ginger-licious treat for our furry friends. This Gingerbread Dog Treat Recipe is made up with ginger powder, molasses, honey for sweetness, and just a touch of cinnamon. Perfect to leave out for Santa Paws – or any nice pooch on your gift list.
Nothing says the holiday season like the smell of gingerbread. Line cookie sheets with parchment paper.
In a large bowl, mix together all-purpose flour, ginger powder, baking soda, and cinnamon.
In a small bowl, combine the egg, molasses, honey, and vegetable oil. Slowly add the wet ingredients to the dry and mix well.
Divide dough into four balls and wrap in plastic wrap. Refrigerate for 3 hours, or freeze for about an hour.
Once the dough is cold, flour your surface, unwrap the balls, and roll the dough out into about 1/4″ thickness. Cut out using cookie cutters and place shapes on cookie sheets.
Place in oven and bake for 20-25 (or until the cookies start to brown)
Remove from oven and let cool on racks for 2-3 hours. Keep treats stored in fridge or freeze in airtight container.
