Dog Tale of Hylo

Hello, I’m Hylo (Hi-Lo).

My mother insists that I was given the name of a famous local bluegrass musician. I’ll admit that I could get your attention and show you what a great little boy I am if I could sing and play the guitar.

I like to exercise and play with my foster family. Playing keep away with a squeaky toy is one of my favorite games to do with my foster brothers. I adore everyone so much (little kids, big people, other pets too). I’m sure I could learn a lot of new things if you would just take the time to show me.

If you want a young man who will love you unconditionally and show you kisses and tail wags, I’m your guy. My dream is to have my own family. If we worked together, just think of the beautiful music we could produce.

Hylo is a medium-sized wire-haired terrier mix that is 8 to 9 months old (who may also be a little Schnauzer). He has a dark, wiry coat, four white-dipped paws, and a noticeable white beard. He is quite easy to groom and likes to be rubbed (no shedding). He weighs 29 pounds and is an adult (a perfect size – not too big or too little). He is neutered and has received all of his vaccinations. He is being taught good home manners and walks on a leash.

Hylo is a resident of a foster home in eastern Kentucky. It is possible to arrange for transportation and adoptions from outside the state. If you are interested in adopting this dog, please submit an online adoption application at If you have any questions, you may reach us by phone at 1-855-745-2738 or email at [email protected] We look forward to hearing from you!
